Description Detail
Technical requirements to gain market access and become export ready A learner achieving this unit standard will be able to implement a management system related to food safety, production practices, as well demonstrate environmental and social awareness within the agricultural supply chain. Learners will gain an understanding of sustainable agricultural practices as applied in the animal, plant and mixed farming sub fields. This unit standard focuses on the application of food safety principles in primary agriculture. Competent learners will be fully competent in food safety practices whereby providing the environment for the application of quality practices and thus strengthen agricultural practices in general. They will be able to participate in, undertake and plan farming practices with knowledge of their environment. This unit standard will instil a culture of maintenance and care for both the environment as well as towards farming infrastructure and operations.
A learner achieving this unit standard will be able to apply sound food safety principles by identifying risk factors in food contamination and applying preventative measures to ensure product safety. Learners will gain an understanding of sustainable agricultural practices as applied in the animal-, plant and mixed farming sub fields. This unit standard focuses on the application of food safety principles in primary agriculture. They will be able to participate in, undertake and plan farming practices with knowledge of their environment. This unit standard will instil a culture of maintenance and care for both the environment as well as towards farming infrastructure and operations.
Learners achieving this unit standard will be able to explain the importance of maintaining and increasing biodiversity, and the role of natural resource management in sustainable agricultural practices. Competent learners will have a general idea of the most important agricultural and conservation regulations, thus strengthening sustainable agricultural practices and benefiting the environment. Learners will gain an understanding of sustainable agricultural practices as applied in the animal-, plant and mixed farming sub fields. This unit standard focuses on the application of natural resource management in primary agriculture. They will be able to participate in, undertake and plan farming practices with knowledge of their environment. This unit standard will instill a culture of maintenance and care for both the environment as well as towards farming infrastructure and operations.
A learner achieving this unit standard will be able to monitor and supervise the implementation of food safety and quality, production, environmental and social practices, and awareness within the agricultural supply chain. Learners will gain an understanding of sustainable agricultural practices as applied in the animal, plant and mixed farming sub fields. This unit standard focuses on the application of food safety practices in primary agriculture. They will be able to participate in, undertake and plan farming practices with knowledge of their environment. This unit standard will instill a culture of maintenance and care for both the environment as well as towards farming infrastructure and operations.
Traceability This Unit Standard is intended for people who are, or who wish to be employed in positions in the Forwarding industry responsible for the monitoring and control of the movement of cargo. Individuals who are credited with this Unit Standard will be able to timeously locate cargo, report its location and, in the event of delay, misrouting, damage, loss or other discrepancy to communicate with the affected parties.
Market Planning A learner achieving this unit standard will be able to develop, implement and optimise a management system for food safety and quality practices in an agricultural supply chain in a context of the learners` own choice. Competent learners will be fully competent in food safety practices thereby providing the environment for the application of quality practices and thus strengthen agricultural practices in general. Learners will gain an understanding of sustainable agricultural practices as applied in the animal, plant and mixed farming sub fields. This unit standard focuses on the application of food safety principles in primary agriculture. They will be able to participate in, undertake and plan farming practices with knowledge of their environment. This unit standard will instill a culture of maintenance and care for both the environment as well as towards farming infrastructure and operations.
Transport Logistics & Administration This unit standard is an elective standard and forms part of the qualification, National Diploma and is registered at Level 5 on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF). Learners working towards this standard will be learning towards the full qualification, or will be working within a marketing environment, specialising in Marketing Management where the acquisition of competence against this standard will add value to one`s job. This standard will also add value to learners who are starting their own business and recognises that marketing forms an integral component of any business. The qualifying learner is capable of:
• Identifying and managing product and packaging changes (new or existing)
• Implementing and monitoring pricing plan
• Developing and implementing media plan
• Developing and implementing promotional plan
• Developing and implementing innovation plan
• Managing product profitability
Trade Shows This unit standard is an elective standard and forms part of the qualification, National Diploma and is registered at Level 5 on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF). Learners working towards this standard will be learning towards the full qualification, or will be working within a marketing environment, specialising in Marketing Management where the acquisition of competence against this standard will add value to one’s job. This standard will also add value to learners who are starting their own business and recognises that marketing forms an integral component of any business. The qualifying learner is capable of:
